Golden Globes 2011: Best Dressed List/Standouts

Gosh I've been gone for ages, I miss this place lol!

Anyway! Award Season is in full after the Golden Globes on Sunday and I couldn't be happier, beautiful people with amazing dresses on the red carpet = perfection! I had quite a few favourites and I'm only going to post the dresses I actually liked,  (what's the point in wasting time with things I don't like?!)

Here we go!

P.S this is in no order but of course I'll make my absolute favourites known!!

  • Milla Jovovich in Armani Privé:

Looking every inch the Hollywood starlet Milla opted for high glamour in Armani Privé who was the preferred designer of the night!

Her hair and make-up were simple yet beautiful, besides she's naturally gorgeous she doesn't even need make-up and she has stunning eyes, I love staring at them lol!

  • Emma Stone in Calvin Klein Collection:

Emma's dress was probably the simplest dress on the red carpet last night and I didn't know she had even attended because all the fashion pages were too busy with the sparkly & sequined stuff and when I saw Emma I thought she looked gorgeous!! Ok so it's almost the simplest dress on Earth but remember this is Calvin Klein we're talking about, he's known for his simple yet elegant dresses..don't be expecting ruffles and sequins! The colour suits her a lot and yeah she's pretty tanned but so what?

I'm loving Emma's blonde hair, she pulls it off very well (I do know she's naturally blonde btw!) as it's a tricky blonde colour. Like most of the other starlets, her make-up was very natural, her hair & dress caught most of the attention! Loved it.

  • Olivia Wilde in Marchesa:

If I was her I'd be showing off those Louboutins too...damn her!

Looking gorgeous in this Marchesa creation, she sure was going for the ball gown type! Her straight hair goes well with the dress, not too fussy as it would've been overkill considering the dress is a showstopper!

  • Sandra Bullocks in Jenny Packham:

Looking stunning in Jenny Packham, Sandra's dress was very feminine and girlie which is a pleasant surprise from her! It looks beautiful!

I'm not too sure of Sandra's fringe, it seems a little stiff on her, as if she can barely see with it! She does look lovely though, nonetheless!

  • Mila Kunis in Vera Wang:
One of the 'Green Goddesses' of the night, she wore this beautiful dress by Vera Wang which looks great against her dark hair and skin. Definitely a memorable dress from the 2011 Golden Globes.

Looking as beautiful as ever Mila's hair was up with a slight quiff and her make-up was quite natural but when you're as gorgeous as her you don't even need make-up!

  • Scarlett Johansson in Elie Saab:

One of my favourites of the night...I can't get over how gorgeous that dress is and how good it looks on Scarlett, kudos to her! This beautiful creation is one of the many reasons I adore Elie Saab, he just knows how to make the most gorgeous, feminine and striking of dresses...I wish I could wear one of his designs one day!

Scarlett just looked like an angel in that dress and her hair & make-up only made that more obvious, in tune with her soft and feminine dress she kept everything else natural too with barely there make-up and softly done up hair.

  • Catherine Zeta-Jones in Monique Lhuillier:

Another 'Green Goddess', this was one of my standout dresses of the night, the colour is just amazing and it looks fantastic on Catherine, I think deep greens or green in general looks better on dark brunettes and redheads rather that blonde's (not always just most of the time!). A definite triumph for Catherine, God does she ever not look good though?!

Ever the beauty she paired her gorgeous dress with a little green eyeshadow on her lower line and kept the top half slightly darker with false lashes and lots of liner, lovely!

  • January Jones in Versace:

Is anyone else not surprised that January is wearing Versace? Yeah..I didn't think so. Don't take it the wrong way though, I LOVE it! I love the red on red, it especially looks good on blonde's, January looks like a bombshell! She might be revealing a lot of skin but so what, she's sexy enough to do so.

January is a classic beauty in my eyes, her face is very unique and she can easily transform to a beautiful woman in the 40's/50's, I don't even watch Mad Men but she's definitely on my radar now! Her hair and make-up are perfection, probably my favourite of the night!

  •  Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace:

Well wasn't this a surprise? Who would've thought Angelina Jolie would turn up in a sequined green dress, not me that's for sure! She's the last of my 'Green Goddesses' and of course I saved the best for last! The colour once again is very striking against her brunette tresses although I would've preferred a tighter fit and less emphasis on the shoulders for the dress as it makes her look a little heavy on top but other than that, it's gorgeous, a definite favourite!

Still the most beautiful woman alive, Angelina's hair and make-up don't disappoint! She had a soft smoky eye complete with false lashes and a peachy glossy lip, her hair was simply down with a few waves here and there but definitely not over styled. Ugh I just love her!

  • Christina Aguilera in Zuhair Murad:

And there was me expecting Christina in Versace! It's a lovely surprise though, her Zuhair Murad lace gown is gorgeous and she definitely stood out from the crowd. I definitely prefer Christina's Zuhair Murad choice rather than J-Lo's who's dress was a little on the weird side. 5/5 for Ms Aguilera!

Never one to leave home without her red lips Christina doesn't disappoint make-up wise, it's just a simple winged liner and not a lot of make-up on the face. I like her hair too, she should stick to this kind of length for now or tone down the bleach, I'd prefer to see her in a natural looking blonde colour than this heavily bleached one. Still, she looks lovely!

  • Anne Hathaway in Armani Privé:

One word to describe Anne? PERFECTION is that word! I nearly died when I saw this amazing/beautiful/stunning dress on her, she just looks like a million dollars! That amber tone dress is just heavenly and Anne's statuesque like body goes perfectly with it, I fell in love with this look from the moment I saw it!

And since she was all covered up in the front it's only right that her back gets some exposure. I can't get over this dream of a dress..I can't wait to see what Anne wears next!

Looking as beautiful as ever, Anne's make-up is fresh with a slight smoky eye and everything else is kept natural..she's just too gorgeous to even need make-up! Also I really love her hair, the highlites give her something different to work with and suit her a hell of a lot!
I think Anne's dress was my favourite along with the next attendee...

  • Leighton Meester in Burberry Prorsum:

Lat but not least we have my love, Leighton Meester! She was the attendee I was most excited about and she didn't disappoint! She wore this gorgeous nude dress from the Pre-Fall 2011 Collection by Burberry Prorsum, I was quite surprised she wore them but wow she looked beautiful!

Doesn't she just look heavenly? She certainly knows how to accessorise her dress, she's wearing Cathy Waterman jewels, a Louis Vuitton clutch and stunning Jimmy Choos'! She and Anne were the best dress of the night for me, the nude dresses won me over!

I can never get over how beautiful Leighton is and her appearance at the Golden Globes only proved me right! Her hair was softly up a little at the back without risking the 'over done' look which some others had..then again Leighton is never one to over do it with her hair or make-up! Her make up was gorgeous, I love it when she does a smoky eye as it enhances her amazing brown eyes, her lip was a matte peachy colour and overall her make-up was a favourite of mine.
I just love her even more after this!

So that's it you guys, those were my standouts from this years Golden Globes. I'm happy with my choices and I can't wait for the SAG Awards now and the Grammy, recording artists always have the craziest outfits! And of course the Academy Awards are what everyone waits for but those a little over a month away so..roll the next few ones!

Top 4 Looks:

1) Leighton Meester - Burberry Prorsum
2) Anne Hathaway - Armani Privé
3) Scarlett Johansson - Elie Saab
4) January Jones - Versace

Chanel Girl: Blake Lively

As I'm sure everyone has heard by now, Blake Lively is the new face of Chanel's 'Mademoiselle' handbag line.
It can't come as too much of  a surprise since she was seen at their Couture Show in Paris last summer and in countless of their dresses! While I don't think Blake is the right choice, she's just not Chanel enough for me, she does however look fantastic in their dresses and that is clearly important, I just wish Karl had picked someone more classically beautiful but none the less, I'm happy for her!

Here are the Chanel dresses Blake has been pictured in:

Blake at the Chanel Haute Couture 2010 Show:

Looking summery and gorgeous in this flowy dress from the labels Cruise Collection paired with pale pink Louboutins. Some critics said it was a little 'beach wear' like for a Couture show but I think she looked lovely and besides it was a damn hot Parisian summer!

Blake at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards:

This pretty dress is from the labels S/S 2011 collection which was showcased in Paris not too long ago. I'm not fond of Blake's shoes or bra of choice lol, she should've known that a white bra would show up when cameras are being flashed..it kinda ruined the whole look which is a shame because it had potential! Her hair and make-up was nice though, it's just her way of wearing the dress ruined the beauty of it.

Blake at the screening of  'Twelve':

Another dress from Chanel's Cruise collection and this time she was at Chace Crawford's movie screening. I think she looks amazing, that body of hers and those legs were made for dresses like these...she looks astonishing! The corkscrew Louboutins work fantastically with that gorgeous dress and she's not too made-up to take the attention away from it. Love it.

Blake at the re-opening of Chanel's Soho Boutique:

This unusual but eye catching dress was from Chanel's Haute Couture Collection in 2010. A lot of people weren't too fond of it but I like that it was different and that Blake had slightly stepped away from the leggy dresses for something more quirky and unusual! And besides if I had the opportunity to wear Couture Chanel, I wouldn't turn down the offer! Oh and once again she's paired her Chanel dress with Louboutins, it's become a habit of hers lately.

And now for my absolute favourite 2010 dress of Blake's...

Blake at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of 'The Town':

Looking like a million dollars in Chanel Haute Couture, this is by far Blake's best look of 2010! The dress is just drop dead gorgeous, one of the most beautiful I've seen in a while and the red is extremely flattering for a champagne blonde like Blake! I actually can't get over how beautiful she looks in that dress, it's unreal, she should wear red more often! 10000/10!

The stunning red Louboutins is what she paired her dress with, it was basically red on red on red and it worked wonders! I wouldn't mind a pair.. ;)

And now to her make up, yepp you guessed it, she had red lips! The eye make-up goes perfectly with the red lip which goes amazingly with the red dress and red shoes...it's a red affair! She looks beautiful and her hair is giving me serious envy although I must say I've gotten my own hair to look almost exactly like Blake's, colour-wise.

And those are Blake's Chanel pieces of 2010, I'm sure there are many to come this year as she is the new Chanel girl!

People's Choice Awards 2011: Leighton Meester

Leighton attended the People's Choice Awards 2011 on Tuesday wearing this gorgeous Vionnet S/S 2011 dress. She paired it with Brian Atwood's 'Ella' heels in a pretty nude colour and with flawless hair & make-up, she should wear smoky eyes more often it makes her eyes look even more amazing that they already are!

Here are a few pics of her on the night, where she also presented Kid Rock on stage with her The Roommate co-star Minka Kelly:

Beautiful smoky eyes and a hit of bright peach blush, lovely!

Her summery Vionnet dress wasn't too formal but then again it's only the PCA, just you wait for the Golden Globes..she's going to turn it on then!

I love this dress, seriously!

Her gorgeous Brian Atwood 'Ella' heels.

With The Roommate co-star Minka Kelly. Everyone always comments on how alike they look and yeah there are one or two similarities but overall they don't look that alike...Leighton is much better looking in my opinion.

Until next time,

Music Obsession: Bruno Mars 'Grenade'

I've been replaying this beautiful, stunning, AMAZING song for a few days now and I still can't get enough! Bruno looks like the sexiest guy alive in this video..damn! And that voice of his melts my heart especially when it sings heartbreaking lyrics like these....

Bruno Mars ' Grenade':

Fashion History: Leighton Meester in 2010

I have quite a few fashion icons but never have I been as obsessed with the clothes that a person wears the way I am with Leighton Meester's! She's a fashion Goddess!
She's one of those women who's wardrobe gives you serious envy but at the same time you admire her for being different while always being on trend.

She has the fashion world at her feet and has worn pretty much every designer worth talking about! Oh and did I mention she's the new face of Missoni and Vera Wang's new perfume 'Lovestruck'? Yeah...

In this post I'm going to go through her 2010 outfits that stood out for me, here we go!

1)  Leighton in Louis Vuitton at Eric Daman's book launch:

Being head to toe (well actually the heels are Balenciaga!) in Vuitton is every girls' dream, lucky thing!
The whole look is straight of the runway and I thought it looked fantastic even though others thought it was a little 'strange'..whatever.

2) Leighton in Hervé Léger:

Those beautiful boots we're staring at are Givenchy FYI. And that Hervé Léger dress is a dream on her, Leighton is pretty thin with not much of a bust so it's difficult to call her 'curvy' but this dress hugs her in all the right places and shows off a feminine figure. She should wear this kinda length more often it makes her hips and legs look amazing!

3) Leighton in Giambattista Valli at the premiere of Date Night:

Looking natural and soft in the midst of those tough Phi heels. This dress was pretty much like Marmite for the fashion critics, you either loved it or hated it. I will admit at the beginning I wasn't feeling it but I grew to really like it, it's different, it's eye catching and she looks great in it!
Oh and I'm very jealous at how amazing she looks with the most minimal make-up..I've always said she was ridiculously beautiful naturally lol!

4) Leighton in Marc Jacobs at the MET Ball in 2010:

Unfortunately for us Leighton lovers she wasn't able to walk the red carpet for the MET Ball because she was working and running late but she did manage to attend the After Party! This Marc Jacobs dress is so fairy like, ethereal and sort of forest - like, you know what I mean? The colours are beautiful and so is the detail but it's a shame Leighton wasn't too made up but she had a good excuse, the only real complaint I have for the dress is that I think it should have been more fitted, if that meant wearing a smaller size then so be it..it would've looked better if it sort of hugged her instead of falling loose as it falls right on her chest where she isn't very full. I still love you though Leighton!!

5) Leighton in Hervé Léger at a Herbal Essences photo call:

This Hervé dress is absolutely gorgeous, one of those dresses that probably any girl out there dreams of wearing! Those Pierre Hardy heels look painful but beautiful...you sometimes have to suffer for fashion, it's the truth! I think the blonde in her hair looked amazing on her and completented the cream & embellishment of the dress. She definitely rocks girly and short dresses like a pro!

6) Leighton in Erdem with a Chanel bag:

Walking around Paris covered in Erdem, Chanel & Louboutins...what else could you want?!
This whole Erdem outfit is gorgeous, the colours look fantastic on her and the different prints mix well together. That little Chanel bag is just oh Lord...what I would do to own it, that's all I'm saying! And well, those Louboutins aren't exactly unnoticeable, those babies are beauties and I would like those too, please!
Oh Leighton, when will you stop being perfect?!

7) Leighton in Chanel at the Chanel Haute Couture 2011 Show:

It has been my dream to see Leighton at Chanel and it finally came true! Looking sexy as hell, she opted for black leather in the middle of a Parisian summer (brave girl!) with a ton of jewellery and wore arguably the most beautiful Louboutins I've ever seen...all hail Leighton! Her hair and make-up was perfection and she was definitely a stand out at the show, probably the best dressed there!

8) Leighton in Emilio Pucci:

Well, hello Leighton! So many dresses, so little time! This Emilio Pucci number is gorgeous and quite summery looking apart from the long sleeves, none the less I wouldn't mind owning it, haha! Looking amazing as always, she's paired it with some gorgeous Louboutins that are pretty much the same colour as the dress. It's a fun and sexy look, definitely a stand out!

9) Leighton in Versus at Fashion's Night Out in NYC:

Daring as always in this tiny cut out dress from Versus. The electric blue looks amazing against her dark hair, she definitely won't get lost in the crowd! Another dress, another Louboutin is the thing with Leighton..then again, who could blame her?! Some weren't too fond of this get up but I actually really liked it, it wasn't subtle but it was fun and sexy, so why the hell not?!

10) Leighton in The Row & Proenza Schouler:

The sweater is The Row and the pants are Proenza...love, is all I can say! Those boots and the blue pants certainly call for attention! She looked especially beautiful that night, I love it when she has long hair that's a cool  brown, it's Leighton at her best! I just want all of it, give me all of it!

11) Leighton in Emilio de la Morena at Roger Vivier's Fashion's Night Out:

Looking beautiful in a mini Emilio de la Morena, he always seems to create extremely sexy little dresses! This beauty is stunning and Leighton rocks it like it's the last dress on Earth! Her chic updo definitely lets the attention fall on the dress and amazing shoes..oh to be Leighton!

12) Leighton in Chanel at the re opening of their Soho Boutique:

Another Chanel dress for Leigh, more conservative than the previous but still chic and gorgeous. Her shoes are insane!! And that necklace is God's Gift, seriously, it's absolutely stunning! You can never go wrong with a LBD paired with killer heels..preferably Chanel! I'm kidding....ha.

13) Leighton in Marc Jacobs at V Magazine celebration:

Adorable in Marc Jacobs, this dress is beautifully girly and it works well with her bag. She just looks lovely and girly which isn't very common with Leighton, she looks amazing as always though, non?

14) Leighton in Proenza Schouler at their Spring 2011 fashion show, NY:

Her bare midriff caused a little controversy for some reason, I think she looks great! She's slim, toned and in fantastic shape..ehh some people! Yeah she's showing quite a lot of skin but so what, she has guts and she can pull it off, go Leighton! I think the little sweater & skirt combination was fantastic!

14) Leighton in Elie Saab:

This gorgeous powder blue dress was favoured by many and rightfully so! Both the dress and heels are by Elie Saab FYI, she just looks lovely! The up do and minimal make-up keep the attention on the dress, well done to Leighton for wearing Elie Saab, one of the most feminine and beautiful dress makers out there!

15) Leighton in Giambattista Valli:

Looking cute in a straight of the runway dress from Giambattista Valli, very demure and natural. I love the two tone dress and the Ferregamo heels are beautiful but what really caught my eye is her necklace, it definitely adds a little detail to the simplicity of the dress. Another lovely look!

16) Leighton in Marc Jacobs at the Nashville premiere of Country Strong:

One of Leighton's less demure looks of 2010...you know what I was a little shocked and in WTF mode when I first saw it but I've kinda grown to like it. It's not that bad you guys, she wears it with confidence and that is extremely important! After staring at it for a while I can sort of see how it gells together, you have to focus though lol!

17) Leighton in Emilio Pucci at the CMA Awards, 2010:

Another stunning Emilio Pucci dress, it's a summery dress in the middle of Autumn but then again Leighton has never been one to follow rules, non? The material and the lightness of the dress work perfectly with her low maintenance hair and those Jimmy Choo  'Ciara' platforms are beautiful. A definite 5/5 for Leighton!

18) Leighton in Prabal Gurung at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards:

This pretty dress by Prabal Gurung was custom made for Meester I believe (she was also his date for the event!) She stood out from the crowd in this gorgeous creation and the Roger Vivier heels go nicely with it! She upstaged Lively who wore a beautiful Chanel dress but kinda ruined it by wearing a white bra underneath..which completely showed when photographed, oops!

19) Leighton in Marchesa at Harry Winston Event:

The jumpsuit that got everyone talking...It's a pretty crazy look, I will admit that and it is quite an unusual piece but at least she wore it with confidence, right? Not her best look but still a standout and I usually love anything Marchesa/Leighton so I'm not going to be mean about it, I'll let her off this time!

20) Leighton in Versus promoting Herbal Essences in Madrid:

One of the prettiest dresses she wore last year, for sure! It's ridiculously cute and you can never go wrong with a LBD (especially when it's Versus ;) Hold on a minute though..what are those shoes I see?! Those beautiful peacock inspired heels are the Pierre Hardy 'Nebula' sandals and were very talked about, rightfully so if you ask me! Most definitely one of her best looks for 2010 and undoubtedly one of her best heels...so jealous!

21) Leighton in Thom Browne at Gotham Independent Film Awards:

Never one to shy away from anything, naturally Leighton wore a suit instead of a pretty little dress to an Awards show and boy did it get people talking! This tough but pretty suit from men's tailor Thom Browne looks fantastic on Leigh because 1) It's clearly been tailored to fit her perfectly although not in an obvious way and the masculinity remains with the tie. 2) She looks a little grungy which helps her achieve the look she's going for and those Ferragamo heels help too ;)
These kind of outfits are one of the many reasons I adore Leighton, she wears what ever the hell she wants and clearly doesn't give a shit whether it's liked by the press or not..go girl!

22) Leighton in Christian Dior at the Los Angeles premiere of Country Strong:

Last but not least, she wore this straight off the runway dress from Christian Dior's Spring 2011 collection along with Pierre Hardy wedges that complemented the fun colours on the dress perfectly. It's one of her more girlie dresses and it's nice to see her in bright colours once in a while and besides, you can never go wrong with Dior!

That's it folks, those are the outfits worn by Leighton in 2010 that really caught my eye, I hope you like/love them just as much as I do! Oh and I might have another Leighton post straight after this one, that's how much I love her!
